Celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival with a Cup of Biron Tea's Cherry Blossom Green Tea!

Macon Georgia is the Cherry Blossom Capital of the World, with over 350,000 cherry blossom trees and home to the International Cherry Blossom Festival. Therefore, as a Macon, GA, company we made sure to create a Cherry Blossom Tea to honor our home!

Cherry Blossoms are in bloom for 2-3 weeks a year. Their light pink blossoms can been seen floating in the air this time of year and look like fairy dust, coloring the town in a beautiful light pink hue. These trees have meaning in several different cultures.

According to Chinese culture, the cherry blossom is a feminine symbol, representing feminine beauty, sexuality, and fertility. In Japan, it has a different meaning however they both celebrate the light pink blossoms in a beautiful way.

There is a Japanese tradition called Hanami, where the entire country celebrates the viewing of the cherry blossoms with picnics under the trees and outdoor celebrations. The blossoms have special significance in Japanese culture since their spectacular beauty lasts only a few weeks. The cherry blossom trees represents the impermanence of beauty and hones in the fact that nothing lasts forever and even if life is bittersweet; it is often in those melancholy moments that we truly live. The Japanese term for this is mono no aware.

Our Cherry Blossom tea starts with fruit, so it is a bit sweet as it hits the tongue, however it has a sour cherry finish. We tried to capture, as best we could, the mono-no-aware with the flavor of this tea: a complex flavor with both sweet and sour notes. Click here to try our Cherry Blossom Tea!
